He was born June 22, 1987, in Heukseok- dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul. He wanted to be a professional footballer and he was selected for the youth football class of South Korea Manager and a former professional player. An injury during his 5th grade of elementary school put an end to his football career. In 2nd year of high school, he turned into acting. He studied major in films and art at Konkuk University. When he was in his senior year he signed with ‘Starhaus Entertainment’.

In his initial days, he had to struggle to get a foothold. He performed several trivial roles in Television Productions which include Romance, Nonstop 5, and Recipe of Love.
