The Christian name of Kodak Black is Dieuson Octave. He was born on June 11, 1997 in Pompano Beach, Florida.
He has been using his nickname “Black” since the age of six. He had joined Instagram with the name Kodak Black. He used to rap while in elementary school. After school he used to go to local trap house to record music. This had kick-started his career as a rapper.

With the rap group Brutal Youngnz, Kodak Black had started his career in 2009 under the name J-Black. After this, he joined the Kolyons.
It was in December 2013 that he had released his first mixtape Project Baby. This was followed with the mixtape Heart of the Projects in December 2014 and mixtape Institution in December 2015.
In 2016, he made his feature on French Montana’s song “Lockjaw”. He also released the fourth mixtape “Lil B.I.G. Pac” later that year.
