Kingdom Season 3: Release Date, Trailer, Plot, Cast And More!

The Korean zombie drama is expected to receive a third season.

It goes without saying that the Korean zombie-drama, Kingdom has ended up establishing a standalone, dedicated bunch of religious fans who are yearning for more. The creators behind the show have been released two seasons as of right now. Both the seasons have resulted in much reception – both at the hands of the critics as well as the readers. The first season of Kingdom was provided the much-needed global platform by online-streaming platform, Netflix. The online-streaming platform also ended up generating a lot of revenue over the show, therefore; it was quite a win-win situation on both the ends.

For those who are not aware, the series is actually based on The Kingdom of Gods, a series that was written by Kim Eun-Hee and Yang Kyung-Il. It is essentially supposed to be a historical political drama which spews of themes such as supernatural and zombie horror.

The series initially premiered on Netflix on January 25, 2019. The series, as mentioned previously, is written by Kim Eun-Hee. It was provided the much-need magical touch by the hands of director, Kim Seong-Hun. The series features many great actors including Ji-Hoon Ju, Doona Bae, Kim Sungkyu, Hye-Jun Kim and more. As specified in the past, the series has ended up garnering a lot of attention. It ended up leading the creators to make a second season, which was eventually released on March 13, 2020.

While there are talks about a possible third season of the show, we are yet to hear from Netflix as to when exactly they plan on exploring the path for the same.

The Kingdom Season 3 Plot Line

The series takes us back on a journey to the Korea’s Joseon period. The Japanese, at the time, had invaded Korea for a really long time, right from 1592 to 1598. The cast consisted of several protagonists, however, the primary focus remained with Crown Prince Lee Chang. This character is played by actor Ju Ji-Hoon. He is the one who begins his journey and unexpectedly, falls in a vulnerable state with a life-threatening conspiracy that transpires politics. At the same time, he is also exploring the origin of the virus. All throughout the second season, we were able to follow the lives of the presented characters.
