Season 2 of the 2019 Netflix release ‘Kingdom’ has attracted many viewers from all around the world. The audience is eagerly waiting for the next season ever since. Earlier, season 3 was scheduled to release in 2020 but got postponed due to pandemic and currently prevailing lockdown situation. As per the new information and updates, we can get season 3 in mid-2021. Now it has been around six months since season 2, and we haven’t heard anything still.
About Kingdom
Kingdom is a South Korean series released on Netflix in 2019. It is the first Netflix Original Korean dramas that premiered on 25 January 2019. Later in March 2020, season 2 of Kingdom was released. Kingdom is a period horror thriller show on Netflix. The show is an adaptation of the web-comic series named “The Kingdom of the Gods,” written by Kim Eun-hee. The story revolves around Prince Lee Chang, who comes across a building filled with dead bodies while he was out in search, investigating his father’s illness. To his surprise, he finds out that the bodies were not dead and would rise again. The city is infected with some mysterious plague. Hence, zombies are overpowering the Kingdom. Consequently, the prince is fighting to save his people and his throne.

Release Date of Kingdom Season 3
The possibility of Kingdom season 3 is marginally high. However, there is no update on the timeline yet. The COVID-19 Pandemic is the major reason after his uncertainty. Certainly, COVID-19 emerged during the post-production stage of Kingdom season 2. Hence, everything has been shut since. Kingdom’s director Park In-je said, “COVID-19 broke out around the last stages of post-production of Kingdom season two, so I’ve been in self-quarantine at home since then.”
According to the previous interviews with Kim Eun-hee, the show will come back with more stories. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, she had said, “Kingdom is a series that gives me more energy the more I write it. The cast and crew all have great chemistry, and there’s so much more to tell. If viewers allow, I would love to see it develop even up to season 10.” She said that the cast has such great chemistry together, and if the audience allows, the series can go up to 10 seasons. She also mentioned that Jun Ji-Hyun would become a central role along with the main characters from season one and two.
Fans’ reaction on delay of Kingdom Season 3
Kingdom is one of the best zombie series ever made. The fans found the thrilling and epic. Therefore, it is annoying for them that there is no update.
