Kanye was born in was born on June 8, 1977 (Atlanta, Georgia). But some say he was born in Douglasville. When he was three years old his parents were separated. He stayed with his mother and they moved to Chicago, Illinois. His father was a former Black Panther and also the 1st black photojournalists at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. His mother was a professor of English at Clark Atlanta University and the Chair of the English Department at Chicago State University. Later she served as Kanye manager.
Kanye was raised in a middle-class background. He studied at Polaris High School. He moved to China Nanjing with his mother at the age of 10. He went to Nanjing University and he was the only foreigner in the class. At an early age, he showed love for the arts. When he was 5 years old he started writing poetry.
