Jennifer Lawrence was overwhelmingly nervous on her way to collect her first Academy Award back in 2013. In fact, the “Silver Linings Playbook” star trickled down on the Oscars stage. Though She recovered quickly and laughed out the whole thing off jokingly.7 years later, the actress reveals the truth.
Jennifer Lawrence was the indisputable highlight of the award telecast that night in 2013, but now she admits it was not intentional but a mere incident.
Lawrence on the “Absolutely Not” podcast confronted that she was extremely elated after hearing her name being announced. The happiness reached such an extent that she kind of blacked out then. .She also added that she did not recall the moment she was called up onto the stage and her brain went all blank.
After being on the stage, Lawrence was offered a standing ovation. “You’re only standing up because I fell on the stairs,” she told the audience. “I feel so embarrassed.”: exclaimed the actress.
Reporters asked her backstage if she had fallen purposefully. The actress jokingly replied, “Absolutely.”
“What do you mean, what happened?”
she added “Look at my dress. I tried to walk up the stairs in this dress. They wax the stairs.” Earlier that evening on the red carpet, she had told reporters that her stylist took six inches off the mermaid-style train of her Dior gown because it was so long.
In fact, imagine the massive length of her gorgeous dress which increases the chances of her fall for sure. Mix walking in a dress with the nerves of going up on the Dolby Theatre stage, and there you have it, an award-winning fall.
