Introduction
Jared Antonio Farrow also known by his stage name Jay Pharoah, is a renowned American actor, stand-up comedian and impressionist. He was born on 14 October 1987 in America.
Early Life
From the age of six, Jay started doing the impersonations of various celebrities and cited Gilbert Gottfried’s character Iago in Aladdin. His father made him a part of a talent show competition, and within a couple of months, he got the fifth place.
In the year 2005, he graduated from high school in Chesapeake. The name of the high school is Indian River High School. One of his characters of his which is extremely popular is Principal Daniel Frye, is heavily influenced by the former principal of his high school, James Frye. After graduating from high school, Jay went on to study business at Tidewater Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University.
Career
Jay has been a performing stand-up comedy from the age of 15 in community’s theatre and comedy clubs at Virginia. He is known for the impersonating celebrities that include, Barack Obama, Eddie Murphy, Jay-Z, Will Smith, Chris Rock, Kanye West, Eddie Murphy, and 50 Cents. Ever since he joined the cast of NBC’s 36th season of Saturday Night Live, he’s become a household name for all the Saturday Night Live fans, and he rose to fame through the show. In the year 2015, Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Jay as the 55th greatest Saturday Night Live cast member. Jay became internet sensation overnight for his impersonation of Barack Obama which was widely seen on YouTube worldwide.
Besides the stand-up comedy and impersonation, Jay Pharaoh has also acted in movies that include the independent movies namely, Lola Versus which was released in the year 2012, and Balls Out, a sports comedy movie. In the year 2016, he hosted American Music Awards alongwith Gigi Hadid. His net worth is $3.5 million.
Currently, Jay Pharaoh is working on his first music album with the producer Myles Williams.
