Is NBA Live 20 cancelled? Will it ever come out?

NBA Live is a collection of EA Sports video basketball games. EA’s series of NBA Playoffs and NBA Showdowns, which was published yearly from 1994 to 2009, 2013 to 2015 and 2017-2018.

What happened to NBA Live 20?

There will be no NBA Live 20, as EA Sports has revealed that it will look ahead and prepare a potential basketball experience of the next decade, instead. EA CEO Andrew Wilson delivered this news during a four-month profit call, as reported by IGN. NBA Live 20 was expected to release in the fourth quarter of 2019 but this is not the plan.

Will EA release the game?

The official NBA Live Twitter account release a statement that a new title is not going to be published in 2019 while they have been excited by their progress. Alongside the NBA and NBPA, they have their foucs on creating something fresh for the next generation of players and platforms.

The series has a turbulent history back in 2012, NBA Live 13 was discontinued just six days prior to its broadcast. But NBA Live 20 was never shown, so it is not known how far the title had been developed. NBA Live 20 was never shown.

Before releasing NBA Live 14 alongside PlayStation 4 and XBOX One, EA Sports was trying to re-assemble NBA Live on the promise of a new console generation. It was a critical and company flop, but it was followed by unabated post-release support to make the game plausible. In the 2020 vacation season both PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s new console, now called Project Scarlett, will be released.

Now EA looks forward to the launch of the consoles of the next generation to put an end to the fighting. They launched their consoles from Microsoft and Sony. EA can then start a new NBA Live as a PlayStation 5 or next Xbox launch game.
