A recently released film Angrezi Medium is now available on Disney+Hotstar VIP it had to be taken out of the cinemas due to a national three-week shutdown to counter COVID-19 spread. The famous Bollywood actor Irrfan shared this information for his fans and followers on Twitter.
Irrfan khan wrote, “Hop on to the dreamy roller-coaster ride with this father-daughter duo as we bring to you the World Digital Premiere of #AngreziMedium only on @DisneyplusHSVIP (sic).”
Indian film actress Radhika Madan has also shared the link of the tweet that Irfan Khan wrote recently. In the movie, she is playing the role of Irrfan’s daughter.
Amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, the famous Indian film director and producer, Karan Johar, called Angrezi Medium the “sunshine we all need”.
There are reports which state that Angrezi Medium opened to Rs 4.03 crore and was only able to make Rs 9.50 crore during the opening weekend before cinemas were declared shut down across the country.
Dinesh Vijayan, who is the producer of this film, has also given the statement about the film’s release on 13 March amid the lockdown. He said that they had no other option as the movie was already opened in the UAE-GCC market on Thursday when Delhi’s chief minister (Arvind Kejriwal) declared shutdown of theatres later in the day. He also added that if they had any clue regarding the lockdown a few days ago, they might have had time to reconsider the release date, but it was too late to step back on Thursday.
Director Homi Adajania earlier took to Instagram and mentioned that Angrezi Medium would be re-released in theatres when it will be safe to do so.
Given the many obstacles that the character faces, the comedy movie shows a father’s struggle to give his daughter education abroad. The cast also includes Kareena Kapoor Khan, Dimple Kapadia, Deepak Dobriyal and Pankaj Tripathi.
