The cheaper 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will be named iPhone XC to be released with iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus

Apple’s ‘Gather Around’ special event on September 12 is merely a day away and the leaks have started intensifying until the launch officiates the details about the three upcoming iPhone models. The 5.8-inch OLED iPhone (successor to iPhone X 2017) will have a moniker iPhone XS while the larger variant with 6.5-inch OLED display will get the moniker either iPhone XS Max or iPhone XS Plus since the former seems to be out of Apple’s traditional nomenclature.

Finally, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will be christened as iPhone XC where the ‘C’ denotes the colorful aspect of affordable iPhones similar to iPhone 5C which was a cheaper and vibrant variant launched alongside iPhone 5S. The moniker ‘iPhone XC’ was recently confirmed when a slide presentation bearing the moniker was leaked on Chinese social media site Weibo that was picked up by 9to5Mac and Macotakara thereby naming the entry-level iPhone.

The slide also featured Chinese price tag for the iPhone XC which is at $699 USD or £540, AU$980. On the contrary, the estimated price tags for other iPhones have been released by our sources too. The smaller 5.8-inch iPhone XS will fetch $900 USB or £696, AU$1,266 while the larger iPhone XS Plus will fetch a price tag of $1,000 USB or £774, AU$1,404.

Recently, concept designer Ben Geskin posted photos of the back panels of iPhone XC denoting the various colors in which the iPhone will be available i.e. maroon, white, rose gold, etc. So, gear up for the September 12 Apple event where we will cover the details discussed during the event on Tecake.
