Shah Rukh Khan honoured with Great Britain’s Global Diversity Award


Shah Rukh Khan has made his throne shine even more by adding yet another diamond to it. The Bollywood King Khan was recently honoured with Britain’s Global Diversity Award 2014 for his contributions to the history of cinema over the past 33 years. While specifying the award as “Big Honour” he said, “this is a special day for me, and I am very humbled to receive the award instituted by Rainbow Foundation.”

The actor, who has spent nearly 33 years as part of entertainment family, said, “My first visit to England was when I was 27 in connection with the first film Baazigar. I have got a lot more than I deserved.” He tweeted in excitement before receiving this honourable award,” Now at the Houses of Parliament to receive the Global Diversity Award….humbled & grateful. Thank you. Thanks, Mr Speaker Rt Hon John Bercow & my friend Mr Keith Vaz for a wonderful ceremony for the Global Diversity Award.” This honour would encourage him to work for the mistreated community. “I will try to do in a small away, whatever I can,” Shah Rukh added.

John Bercow, a member of parliament said that Shah Rukh Khan has won several awards in his entire career. He had won 14 Filmfare awards out of 30; eight times the best actor awards for his several films. He is also an activist in helping women and natural disasters victims from his charity schemes. In addition to it, an another member of parliament and founder of Rainbow Foundation, Rt Hon Keith Vaz said that he is one of the biggest and extraordinary star to this World.

King Khan has been honoured with several other international awards for his achievements in cinema and helping the neglected communities. This includes, “Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur “(France’s highest civilian award), “Wissame Al Kafaa Al Fikria “(Morocco’s highest honour) and the Malaysian title of ‘Datuk’ (akin to the British knighthood).

Moreover, Britain’s Global Diversity Award was also awarded to Bollywood legend -Amitabh Bachchan, Indian actress- Aishwarya Rai, Sheikh Hasina – Prime Minister of Bangladesh, American civil rights leader – Jesse Jackson, Formula One racer -Lewis Hamilton, Jackie Chan – Hong Kong actor and action choreographer, Music legend- Dione Warwick.
