Teens could no more ignore their parent calls, thanks to Ignore No More smartphone app that could lock the child’s device if they ignored calls from their parent. The app promises to help parents in getting control back over the teen’s smartphone. “Ignore No More” is available only for Android phones on Google Play. However, it will be fully available for Apple iOS from March this year, report says.
Previously, in August 2014 Sharon Standifird, the founder of the app, reported that she vividly remembers the day when she called and texted her son, and he didn’t respond. When she came to know that he was safe but just ignoring her call, she got the idea.
Standfird said, “We need to develop an app that just shuts their phone completely down, and they can’t even use it, and I started — literally just started researching how to develop an app.”
Thereafter, as a result of few months of research, designing and working with developers, “Ignore No more” was developed.
With only a single tap, a list of contacts comes up, which were previously selected by the parent only, on the child’s phone and it will go blank. To unlock the device, the child have to call his parent and can get the password.
All you have to do is just install the app on your phone and your spouses’ phone. To lock their device, enter the child’s name and a four-digit PIN and just wait for child’s call.
“Bradley needs to call me because I’m the person that has the unlock password,” Standifird said. “It takes away texting, it takes away the gaming; it takes away calling their friends. The child will always be able to call 911,” said Standifird.
Her son Bradley, however, likes the idea, but not for himself. “Um, well I thought it was a good idea, but for other people, not me.”
