Oppo unveiled world’s slimmest Smartphone: R5


-Tecake- Competing Gionee’s Elife S5.1, Oppo Mobiles, being a first phone maker to launch a smartphone with a rotating camera module, unveiled its “ R5 Smartphone” world’s slimmest mobile that is only 4.85mm thick. The device is also light weight as 155g.

However, this slimness has its cost, and that it does not even have the space to hold a 3.5mm audio jack. In addition to it, company will provide users with a headphone that will use the microUSB port to connect.

The phone comes with a metallic body and a 5.2 inch full HD AMOLED, IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The phone boasts an Octa-Core (Quad 2.1GHz and Quad 1.5GHz); 64-bit Snapdragon 615 SoC processor backed up by 2 GB of RAM. The device also has an excellent 5MP front and 13 MP rear cameras that give an exceptional quality. That is powered by a 2000 mAh battery.

Moreover, Oppo has looked at many precautions with its super slim device as many thin to overheating than thicker devices, Oppo has designed the R5 with a phase-shifting material that cools down the device automatically. However, that will not decrease the chances of you from dropping or crushing this incredibly compact device. Oppo claims the R5 will hit global markets by the end of the year, but the exact date is not stated yet, and will cost $499 off-contract.

Much like the N3 declared alongside it, the R5 accompanies Color OS 2.0 (based on Android 4.4) which carries some convenient features plus a few new ones. For one, the old gesture panel can now be furnished by dredging up from the Home button, thus letting you attract customized motion to set up apps or open contacts. By default, you can create a “V” turn on the flashlight, make a circle launch the camera, or make a “W” launch WeChat.
