Now that Jio has become full-fledged a the part of the thriving telecom sector of the country, no wonder there would be several concerns associated with the customers as well, especially when it comes to customer grievances about SIM lost or misplaced.
With the company’s increased popularity among the masses with over 100 million subscribers to its network, Jio has set out specific what-to-do guidelines for those who may have any concerns regarding the Jio SIM.
As Jio is all set to roll out the monetization for its services starting 1st of April, it has also simplified the procedure for suspending the lost SIM cards and other such mishaps by digitising the process entirely, something that hasn’t been done by any other telecom service provider of the country. So far, in the case of the other telecom service providers, you would need to take the help of the customer support executive to block the lost SIM.
Here is the procedure to get your SIM locked or suspend in case you lose the device with the Jio SIM or the SIM card itself and don’t wish to have the SIM misused:
- Log on to the Jio website on the link
- Log into your Jio account using your Jio number and the password set earlier at the time of buying the SIM
- You will see two options on the page that says “suspend and “resume”. Select Suspend option in case you wish to Suspend the SIM.
- In the next step, the system would ask you the reason for the suspension as SIM damaged or SIM/device lost. Choose the option as applicable
And you are done. This facility is available on the desktop version of the Jio website. However, the company is planning on bringing it to the Jio app suite as well for better accessibility of the user.
