Fujifilm introduces Instax Mini LiPlay with instant prints at $159.95

Camera making giant Fujifilm is here with its new Instax camera with a twist. The new Instax Mini LiPlay which is pronounced as ‘Lee-Play’ is a high-end touch to the previously released Instax Square SQ10 while it features much more than just an Instax camera.

Instax Mini LiPlay sports a small but handy 2.7-inch color LCD screen at the back that enables viewing subjects before clicking the photos while the camera can actually print instant photos right away using its Instax printing capabilities. The screen also helps to navigate through the menu toggling and tweaking its 1/5-inch CMOS sensor while there are three physical buttons to move around the menu bar and to click photos on the go.

What’s more, with the Instax Mini LiPlay is its sound recording feature that captures up to 10 seconds of audio with any photos that you want to print. Now, it might sound too weird since photos cannot radiate sound but what if they did? Well, the camera converts the audio clip into a QR code which is then embedded with the photo allowing the users to simply plan their QR code scanner to scan it and bingo, the audio with the photo is right there on your photo.

Instax Mini LiPlay has an easy-to-use interface thanks to its 2.7-inch screen that we already mentioned and comes with a smartphone app as a companion when needed. It has six filters to try with 30 different frames to select from for prints. It has Bluetooth connectivity that brings it closer to printing anything you can pick up on the internet using its “Direct Print” option and more.

There are plenty of other features that Fujifilm has introduced with the latest Instax Mini LiPlay such as a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts for 100 prints per charge which were tested by The Verge as well. The camera also has a print time of 12 seconds and captures images with a minimum focusing distance of 10 cm or 3.94 inches. Although the images seem a little flushed and white-washed when it comes to the photos that you can view digitally while the prints are of good quality.

It has a microSD slot that you can use to store photos and connect to the computer if you aren’t actually looking for printing out lo-fi mini polaroid type photos that are ready in just 12 seconds. Instax Mini LiPlay will be available on June 14th at a price tag of $159.95.
