BSNL takes a step ahead to maintain its position, cuts landline prices to half

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), the state-owned telecommunication company has decided to fight back in the field and gain its position back, for this it has halved unlimited call rental for landlines for a period of six months.

The price has been brought down to Rs 49 per month, which used to be Rs 99. The voice plan ‘Experience LL 49’ that has been announced this Tuesday has the motive to attract customers to use more wire-line services. Such price can be afforded by everyone in the country.

The plan require customers to pay monthly charge of Rs. 49 for first six months, wherein they’ll be provided with free calls which they can make on Sundays to any network in the country along with the night plan, which is from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. After those six months, the regular plan will swoop in, where they’ll pay according to the general plan of the respective area.

N K Gupta, Director (CFA), BSNL Board said, “BSNL is the only operator which offers such a low-cost landline voice plan in the country. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to offer up to four times extra data on existing data STVs (special tariff vouchers) available in the market”.

Keeping the ongoing competition in mind between all the telecoms and Reliance Jio, BSNL has also brought its 3G mobile internet rates down, the special pack of Rs 36 per GB, cutting its price to three-fourth of that of the previous one.

Plan of Rs 78 promises to provide the double amount of data at 2GB, and that of Rs 291 will give four times more data at 8GB, increased from 2GB for the period of 28 days.

According to BSNL, it is the only operator which is providing such a voice plan with low cost in the country.
