Iron Man (2008)
One should always start with Iron Man.No doubt, Tony Star, a snarky, billionaire, playboy arms dealer a relic from the late Bush era. But the movie plants all the seeds of what the MCU will eventually become. Beginners, go check it out.
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
One can probably skip the movie since the threads left loose in this movie has not been ever piked up in its next sequels. The only connective tissue is Robert Downey Jr. and William Hurt’s General Ross who was later seen throughout the series.
Iron Man 2 (2010)
The third in the line is Iron Man 2. Iron Man 2 has pivotal pieces for what would become the future of the franchise, including the first substantial debut by Samuel L. Jackson, and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow.
Thor (2011)
It is one of the first iconic characters that was released back in 2011. A perfectly solid and concrete plot that sets the stage for Chris Hemsworth’s appearance across the next decade. The movie was also a hit for the introduction of the best villain debut Loki.
Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
This movie showcased Chris Evans as Cap, and his true origin story. Briefly, this movie ultimately paved the way for The Avengers.
The Avengers (2012)
Iron Man 3 (2013)
With the third edition of Iron man, MCU entered its phase 2; popularly known as the aftermath of Avengers. Throughout the movie, we see Tony Stark as he deals with PTSD from the Avengers battle of New York.
Thor: The Dark World (2013)
Although, not so important landmarks in the world of Marvel movies played a key role in exploring the character of Thor and Loki consequently. You can not skip it to understand the rest of the series.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)
The best movie produced by MCU in the entire series. It is a brilliant take on an espionage film—but it’s perhaps the most essential reason that you need to watch these movies in order
Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Another of the MCU’s best work. Not to mention that it’s just a fun, badass story. James Gunn knows what he’s doing.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
The second full-team Avengers outing isn’t the greatest movie on its own, but an important one to keep the sequence. You can skip if you are not too interested.
Ant-Man (2015)
Marvel decided to wind up its Phase 2 with the small-scale fun of Ant-Man. Ant-Man movies proved that the entire universe doesn’t need to be at stake for a Marvel movie to be fun; a basic movie altogether.
