Homeland: Series Ending Explained
In the finale of the psychological series Homeland, Carrie flies to Russia. Carrie, played by Claire Danes, starts to live with Yevgeny Gromov (Costa Ronin). Also, it appears that she is ready to sacrifice Saul for the Russians.
The show reaches its full circle at the end of the series. Carrie stops a nuclear war in the Middle East as she betrays and nearly kills Saul. But the finale issues a time jump to reveal that the story of Carrie and Saul didn’t end there. Carrie writes a book critical of the CIA, a la Edward Snowden, and is presently living in Russia. But we get to see that she is still sending information to Saul, and hence it looks like she didn’t betray him at all.
