Hobbs & Shaw is a bit of a different one from the Fast and Furious franchise, it focuses on the characters of Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, where Hobbs is Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham is Deckard Shaw respectively. The film is the middle ground of the events of The Fate of the Furious and Fast & Furious 9. A second part was confirmed in 2020 by Dwayne Johnson.
Is this Fast and Furious 9?
After eight films, the Fast & Furious franchise now released its first as only with two characters: Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham who have their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in Hobbs & Shaw. Ever since officer Hobbs, an agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and Shaw, who was a British military elite operative made his first appearance in Fast and Furious 7, the duo has exchanged smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down.
The Storyline
But when cyber-genetically enhanced Brixton Lore gains control of an insidious virus-like bio-threat that could change the fate of humanity forever and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent, who just happens to be Shaw’s sister, these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who is definitely worst than themselves. Hobbs & Shaw opens up a new door in the Fast and Furious Franchise as action take place across the globe, from Los Angeles to London and from the toxic wasteland of Chernobyl to the beauty of nature of Samoa.
Hobbs takes both of them to his childhood home in Samoa to visit his angry brother Jonah, a talented mechanic, to repair the device and lay low before fighting Brixton again.
In the battle, all of Brixton’s soldiers are defeated. Brixton captures Hattie and gets her on a helicopter; however, Hobbs, Deckard, and the Samoans bring the aircraft down. Hobbs and Deckard defeat Brixton by Working together, who is killed by Eteon’s never-seen director remotely. The director sends a message that says that he knows about Hobbs and says that he will destroy him and the Shaw siblings and then while they promise to find the director. Then they all get Victory.
