There are lot of viewers who are still looking forward to some creative and new content from the side of Netflix. Chief among the shows is Politician. According to a recent report, the series is expected to return with its second instalment. Netflix made an official announcement regarding the same and it seems like, the second season of The Politician will release on Friday, June 19. The online streaming platform along with the creators also decided to take the wraps off the first photos of the upcoming season for Ryan Murphy’s dark comedy series.
What’s the update till date?
To recall, the first season of The Politician released on September 27, 2019. The American comedy-drama-based web television features a pool of new talent including Ben Platt, Jessica Lange, Lucy Boynton. We also have several old, big and hit celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Zoey Deutch, Laura Dreyfuss and David Corenswet. Ryan Murphy is essentially the creative head behind the show. Murphy along with Alexis Martin Woodall, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Platt serve as executive producers of the show.
As far as the plot of the series is concerned, it essentially revolves around the life of Payton Hobart – a twisted but smart character played by Ben Platt. Hobart is a wealthy Santa Barabara-based businessman-cum-politician and the series revolves around his political race and the characters that he was involved in.

According to what the recent rumours have suggested, the series is expected to revolve around Payton primarily. According to a report by Deadline, the series will be searching for Payton and his efforts for trying to “unseat Dede Standish (Judith Light) in the New York State Senate race. As a long-time incumbent and greatly admired Senate Majority Leader with no-nonsense Chief of Staff, Hadassah Gold (Bette Midler) at her side, Dede’s re-election was supposed to be easy, but Payton — who sees this as the next step on his path to the presidency — must decide what kind of politician he ultimately wants to be in order to succeed, even if that means exposing secrets, lies, and a throuple.”

The main production heads behind the show include Fox 21 TV Studios. The series has been under the leadership of Murphy since the beginning of time. He was the one who acquired the deal along with 20th Century Fox TV. Murphy also serves as a writer as well as the showrunner of the series. It seems like Ryan Murphy has been a part of the series since the beginning of the series.
