It leads to the issues that the movie brings up. HBO Max took the movie and does not regret this fact. Instead, he regrets that it was not taken down earlier. He is now introducing Gone with the Wind with a new and revised context.

The decision of taking down of the movie was made by John Ridley, who is the director, screenwriter and a novelist too who wrote in an article about the African American slavery. This article was like a light for the Black Lives Matter movement as it gave meaning and support to them for equal justice after the injustice caused by George Floyd. As we all know how unfortunate choking death was caused upon him by the police officer.

Though, there is no announcement made regarding the return date for Gone with the Wind on HBO Max.
