Get Ready for Stranger Things 4!

Netflix’s Stranger Things was officially renewed for a fourth season after the release of season 3 in 2019. Production for season 4 began in February 2020 and we even received a stranger things season 4 trailer in the same month.

For those reading this who haven’t heard of Stranger Things, here’s a crash course.

Stranger Things is an American Sci-Fi Horrorshow based in Hawkins, a small town in Indiana, USA. The show follows the adventures of a group of kids as they try to find their friend Will, who goes missing, and in the process meet Eleven, a girl who is roughly the same age as them and is gifted with superhuman abilities. With Eleven, or just El, gradually becoming a valued member of the group, the kids along with help from others such as Will’s mother and sheriff Jim Hopper, discover another dimension existing closely to their own, a dimension they call ‘The Upside Down’ since it seems to exist parallelly with their own world, but instead of people, it is home to deadly monsters, all controlled by the Mind Flayer.

The gang believes Will has been abducted by the Mind Flayer and is being held hostage somewhere in The Upside Down. The only one with significant powers needed to keep the monsters at bay seems to be El, but she hasn’t yet learned to control her powers properly.

Watch this masterpiece of a show to find out how Eleven and gang find and rescue Will, whilst also uncovering secrets from Eleven’s past in the process

With that out of the way, let’s get back to the topic of season 4. Season 3 of Stranger Things was released in July 2019, since then, here is all we know about Stranger Things season 4 so far….

STRANGER THINGS 4 RELEASE DATE

Filming for season 4 began in February 2020 and the completed season was expected to release in the 2020-21 television season, however, Netflix shut down all its productions in March 2020 due to COVID-19 which means that season 4 of Stranger Things will inevitably be delayed, possibly till the 2021-22 season. So as far as we can tell, there is currently no fixed date of release for Stranger Things season 4.

However, a trailer for season 4 was released back in February which showed fan favourite Jim Hopper labouring away in an unknown Russian location. You can watch it here :

Stranger Things Season 4 Expected Storyline

Season 3’s post-credits scene and the season 4 trailer have both confirmed that Jim Hopper,  who now is Eleven’s adoptive father, is in fact still alive and somehow got teleported to Russia by the explosion from the Key.

Eleven, an orphan again, leaves Hopkins with Will’s family, after having successfully defeated the Demogorgon, maybe this time for good.

Rumours are that the Mind Flayer might now try and target El’s sister, Eight, whose whereabouts are currently unknown, and who is believed to have powers just like El.

Season 4 will determine if Hopper will somehow return to Hawkins or if trouble will find him this time in Russia. The new season will also show us how the gang, now split up and scattered across the globe will reunite and if El will get her powers back after having lost them in the fight against the Demogorgon.
