Game of Thrones is an American fantasy television drama series created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss for the channel HBO. The series is an adaptation of the novel series titled, ‘A song of ice and fire’ by George R.R. Martin. The first book in the series is known as ‘A Game of Thrones’. The debut season of the series was premiered on HBO on 17 April 2011, and it became an instant hit among the viewers worldwide.

Game of Thrones has a big fan following all around the world and attracted record viewership on the channel HBO. The critics praised the show for its outstanding performances, brilliant direction, engaging story, complex characters, and appreciative productions. Many critics have named the series, Game of Thrones as one of the best television series of all time. It received and won several awards including, Primetime Emmy Awards, Hugo Awards, Peabody Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and few others.

It was criticized as well as for frequent nudity and intense violent scenes. The series concluded after the eighth season on 19 May 2019. Fans didn’t like the conclusion of the series and found it extremely disappointing.

Is there any sequel or prequel of Game of Thrones?

To all GoT fans, it’s good news that a prequel of their favorite series is finally happening. The name of the prequel is ‘House of Dragon’, and it is officially confirmed that it will premiere in the year 2022. The president of HBO confirmed that the casting for the prequel series has been started, it was delayed due to the pandemic outbreak of Covid-19. The script and the release date is still not known but isn’t it exciting that a prequel is getting ready, and it will cover up the disappointment the fans had at the conclusion of Game of Thrones Season 8.

We hope to see our favorite GoT characters in the new prequel series, House of Dragons. Let’s see what the prequel will unravel!
