Marshall Bruce Mathers III has known professionally as Eminem is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. In Middle America, he is known to popularize hip hop. He is known to break racial barriers for the acceptance of white rappers in popular music. His work in early 2000 made him highly controversial. His net worth is estimated to be $230 million.
Eminem Personal Life –
Eminem was born in St. Joseph, Missouri (October 17, 1972). He is of English, German, Luxembourgian ancestry, Scottish, and Polish. While giving birth to him his mother almost died. Before his parent’s separation, his parents were a part of a band called Daddy Warbucks. His father left them. He had two more siblings. In Missouri, they lived in several places.
As a teenager, Eminem wrote letters to his father but not a single letter was delivered. All the letters came back. Family and friends say he was a happy child but he felt lonely sometimes. He was often bullied. In the working-class, he spends much of his youth. He was beaten by black youth several times. As a child, he was interested in storytelling. At age of 14 with his school friend, he began rapping.
Eminem Career Life –
In 1988, he went by the stage name MC Double M. He formed his 1st group with DJ Butter Fingers (New Jacks). Later in 1989, they joined Bassmint Productions. They changed the name to Soul Intent in 1992 with childhood friends and rapper Proof. A self-titled EP was released which featured Proof.
In 1992 Eminem made his 1st music video appearance in the song Do-Da-Dippity by Champtown. He and Proof team up with 4 new rappers in 1996 to form The Dirty Dozen. In 2001 they release their 1st album Devil’s Night. At age of 20, he was arrested for his involvement in a drive-by shooting with a paintball gun. Later the case was dismissed.
Eminem gained more attention when he developed Slim Shady a sadistic, violent alter ego. He recorded his debut EP the Slim Shadey EP in 1997. The Slim Shadey LP was released in 1999. In May 2000 The Marshall Mathers LP was released.
