The Irish-parody show, Derry Girls is returning with its third season.
It’s quite some time since we got ourselves a taste of some Irish-based parody. The good news is that Derry Girls is expected to return with its third season with some more incredible adventure for the fans to look forward to. As per reports, the series is primarily shot in Derry, Northern Ireland and depicts a period that goes back to the original 1990’s.
Derry Girls Season 3 And All You Need To Know!
The first season of Derry Girls released to an unexpected audience between January and February 2018. At the time, Channel 4 decided to extend their support for the unique project by broadcasting in on their platform. The series received positive reviews, both at the hands of the critics as well as the fans. It ended up establishing it a dedicated group of audience, who were meant to follow them till the end of time, regardless of what happens.
This enthusiasm led the creators to consider launching a second season of the series and they successfully did between March and April, 2019. Regardless to say, soon after the series released, there were talks of the third instalment being in the making as well.
Derry Girls Plot
For those who are unaware, the series follows the story of a group of five friends. It features all the different circumstances that are surrounding the five friends. The one thing that the five of them have in common is the fact that they go to the same school, the Derry Catholic Girls School and thus, have become friends since then. The episodes are filled with humour, thus resulting in immense popularity among the modern audience that are living right through the 2020’s.

As mentioned previously, talks about bringing the series back in the form of the third instalments began as soon as the second one had completed. There were numerous speculations on how things would pan out with the friends but the fans were certain that this would not mark the end of them. If the latest reports to be published online are believed to be true, the third season of Derry Girls is expected to release in June, 2020. Although, the exact date still remains unknown. We look forward to an update with this regard from the cast members. Although, it seems like the current Coronavirus situation has seriously impacted the film industry and all the bunch of release dates.
