The most awaited Black comedy sitcom Derry Girls season 3 will be back on the screen after the long wait of two years. However, the show was commissioned to launch in 2020 but due to delays in production, the release date has been postponed to next year. Further, season 3 is expected to premiere in mid-2021. Plot
Derry Girl’s is influenced by the writer’s personal experiences as a teenager. The story follows the lives of five teenagers Erin, Orla, Clare, Michelle and James living in Derry. Derry is a place in Northern Ireland which is known for its infamous Bloody Sunday which took place there. Further, the show is set in the early 1990s when the ethnonationalist conflict took place there. The show features the four girls who are studying in a catholic girl’s secondary school go through teenage experiences and troubles between the political conflicts.
However, season 3 might show a follow up of the budding romance between Erin and James as mentioned by the writer Lisa McGee. In addition to that, the new season will pick up from where it left, and we can be sure the Derry Girl’s will not disappoint us.
