Cars franchise has always had a successful run. The fan base of the movies is super crazy. The characters and the story of these animated movies are absolutely likeable. With the success of Cars 3, there has been a word about another sequel of Cars. Fans are hopeful for the news to be true. Here is what we know so far about Cars 4!
What happens in Cars?
Cars is a Disney franchise, produced by Pixar through CGI animation. It is set in the world of cars and other automobile and vehicles. The story of Cars revolves around Lightning McQueen, a rookie race car. Certainly, while running in a car race to California, he gets lost in his way.
Subsequently, he enters a small town in Route 66 known as Radiator Springs. However, he wrecks a road and is asked to mend it. Meanwhile, he finds a new best friend Mater and loves interest, Sally. Later, he is not wanted in the town anymore hence Doc Hudson arranges for him to leave. But then he realizes how much McQueen has done for the town, so he joins his crew chief and the town people join his crew.
After that, McQueen is close to winning the race but he helps The King, who was crashed, to win the race. McQueen is praised for his actions and is offered to be Dinoco’s face, which he declines. In the end, McQueen sets up his own racing headquarters in Radiator Springs.
Sequels of Cars
Cars 2 deals with McQueen participating in World Grand Prix race which was set in Japan, Italy and England. Meanwhile, they try to uncover the plot being made to sabotage the race. They discover Miles Axelrod’s evil plans to take revenge for their reputation as history’s biggest car losers. The conspiracy is unveiled and they are knighted by the Queen.

On the other hand, Cars 3 introduced a new generation of race cars. McQueen does not want to retire and struggles to keep up with the newbie. As a result, he gets horribly crashed. A few months later, he visits as a racing centre to train and meets Cruz, who has dreamed of racing but couldn’t. They both give each other confidence and both of them participate in the race and win it together.
Will there be Cars 4?
The last sequel of Cars, i.e. Cars 3 was released in 2017 with new characters of a whole new generation racing cars. Apparently, Cars 3’s new plotline has made the creators think of Cars 4. The producers Kevin Reher and Andrea Warren said, “If there’s a good story to tell I mean our heads kinda break… what could you do the further adventures of? As long as there’s a good story to tell, it’s worth investing; we do love these characters, we love them as much as the public does.

Also, they hinted about the story line saying, “if Cruz is a breakout character, kind of like Mater was, she would be involved in a 4.” In fact, Owen Wilson indicated that the possible stories for Cars 4 have been discussed and he personally wants Cars 4 to be more thrilling. Hence it is highly likely for the Cars 4 to drop by Disney. However, nothing has been announced officially but there is a good chance that we’ll get to hear about Cars 4 soon.
