Bright Eyes share song “Miracle of Life” to benefit Planned Parenthood

Bright Eyes

Bright Eyes have now released their new song, “Miracle of Life,” which is to benefit Planned Parenthood. Alongside the core members of Bright Eyes which includes Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nathaniel Walcott, “Miracle of Life” also features significant contribution from Phoebe Bridgers, Jon Theodore, and Flea.

Bright Eyes in partnership with 7-Inches for Planned Parenthood Collective, released this track, “Miracle of Life” to Bandcamp. All that is collected from sales, streaming, and syncs will be directly contributed to Planned Parenthood.

Bright Eyes and Phoebe Bridgers have released wonderful new albums previously this year. And both of them have got together to produce the new song which will be made available on all streaming platforms on October 28th.

Frontman Conor Oberst states that, “This song should not exist in 2020 America. It is a protest song, I guess. Or maybe just a little story about what was, what still is in many parts of the world and what could be again here in this country if the GOP is successful in reshaping the Supreme Court and rolling back all of the hard-fought progress made for reproductive rights in the last 50 years. Hopefully, if we all work together and vote, it will make this song sound as irrelevant and outdated as it should.” The lyrics of this new song is unsparing as Oberst and Bridgers sing in the chorus: “Get cured with a coat hanger”, with further lines like, “Girl, you’re in America now.”

“Miracle of Life” also brings togethe Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and Queens of the Stone Age drummer Jon Theodore. “Miracle of Life” is a protest song about abortion rights amid the voting scenario in the presidential election of 2020 and the confirmation battle by Supreme Court for abortion rights opponent Amy Coney Barrett.

Bright Eyes’ latest album Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was on Dead Oceans was released in August. Bright Eyes will also perform on October 25th at Planned Parenthood’s Village of Love Virtual Fundraiser.

As of now, “Miracle Of Life” is a Bandcamp exclusive. You can buy it, and the proceeds wil go to the Planned Parenthood. You will be able to stream it from the streaming services from this October 28th.
