Last week, Apple and Google jointly announced that they have decided to develop contact tracking technology that will enable the use of Bluetooth technology to help governments and health agencies fight against the virus.

Now there are reports which confirm that after Google’s collaboration, the coronavirus domain name has been booked by Apple as AppleCoronavirus.com.Domain information for the record is listed by Apple Inc. as the registrant. Reports even reveal that Apple has used CSC Corporate Domains to register its domain name. CSC Corporate Domains is a corporation which manages large corporate domain names.

The tech giant Apple has revealed more details of its COVID-19 contact tracing tech with our news sources regarding how this app will actually work. Apple and Google are releasing an integrated solution which includes application programming interfaces (APIs) as well as operating system-level technologies to help track contacts.

We have reports that in May, Apple and Google are going to release application programming interfaces (APIs), which will allow interoperability between Android and iOS devices. Such APIs can be used by the government and health departments to warn people if anyhow they will come in close contact with COVID-19 patients. Users can download these apps via their respective app stores.

Besides this, the tech giant also revealed that “In the coming months, Apple and Google will work together to enable a broader Bluetooth-based contact tracing platform by building this functionality into the underlying platforms”.

Because COVID-19 can be transmitted by close proximity to infected individuals, officials in public health have recognized contact tracing as a valuable resource to control the spread of the virus.
