The Amish Protest was a surprise for everyone. The peaceful Christians came together to protests against racism after the death of George Floyd. Racism is an issue in various parts of the USA for a long time. The black people of the country has been suppressed and discriminated during various circumstances. The African American was killed during an arrest by a white police officer. This led to a huge outrage all over the country. Protestors took to the street to address the issue in various ways. About the Amish community
There are about 250,000 people belonging to the Amish community in the United States. They are a distinct part of the Mennonite churches. Amish are known for their simple lifestyle/ They follow a simple dressing style, pacifism and are usually labeled as people who are “cut off” from the rest of the world. They are not yet adapted to the novel technologies in order to not affect the one-to-one conversation. The Amish community are also known to help refugees resettle. The Amish like to keep to themselves but at the same time believe in lending a hand for their neighbours and friends. They usually don’t get involved in issues or happenings around the world as most of the time, they are unaware of it. Recently news spread regarding the Amish community coming to the streets and protesting.

The Amish protest
The Amish protest for Black Lives Matter took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The community took to the streets dressed in their plain dressing and protested by standing and singing. They held boards in which Floyd’s words were written like “I can’t breathe” and “Justice for Floyd”. However, people also believe them to be part of the new Amish community who are detached from the old community. The crowd around them cheered for them and applauded. Many were surprised to see the Amish protest for this cause. Moreover, people said that its a shame if this community had to come up with this issue.
