Director James Cameron’s Avatar 2 is under development by 20th Century Studios. Avatar 2 was finally set to arrive in 2021, but it has been delayed again to 2022. The sequel is coming out after a decade of the release of the first movie in 2009.
A number of sequels have been planned for this franchise. The production for the second sequel under a number of controversies was resumed in June this year. Shooting is presently taking place in New Zealand. If the shooting is right on schedule, the sequels will follow every year till Avatar 5 (yes, you heard it right) after Avatar 2 sees its release in 2022. The initial plan is to wind up Avatar 5 by December 22, 2028. This is indeed a long journey ahead, and we are way too excited about it.
Avatar 2 has been in discussion for a long. Initially, it was to see its release way back in 2014 with a follow-up of the third sequel in 2015. But, this was delayed, and consequently, a number of dates have been finalized and delayed. Finally, the work saw the light of the day by September 2017.
But again, several delays have pushed the production date, and we have been hauled in for a long wait. Now with Disney announcing a release date for it in 2022, we expect that this time the things will be on schedule.

Additionally, Kate Winslet will join the cast as Ronal. Sigourn zey Weaver will be back, but this will be seen in a different role. Cliff Curtis, Michelle Yeoh , Brendan Cowell, Oona Chaplin, Edie Falco, David Thewlis, and CJ Jones have also joined the cast of Avatar 2
What will be the plotline of Avatar 2?
Avatar 2 will land on Pandora again. Jake Sully and Neytiri’s daughter will be in focus in the movie. The events will carry on after 12 years of exploring Pandora.
When will Avatar 2 release?
Avatar 2 will finally see its release on December 22, 2022. The release date has been pushed back from the scheduled release on December 17, 2021.
