A Quiet Place 2: What has been done so far?
Initially, the film was planned to have a sequel. Earlier, writer John Krasinki said that he considered A Quiet Place as “a one-off”. Also, the screenwriters Scott Beck and Bryan Woods said that they’d rather invest in creating new ideas. Beck said, “Instead of focusing on sequels per se, it’s about investing back into the ecosystem of original ideas in a massive marketplace.”
However, after three months of release, Krasinki started working on a new script and convinced Emily Blunt to take part in it. In an interview with Variety, John said, “I had this small idea, which was to make Millie the lead of the movie… her character opens the door to all the themes I was dealing with in the first movie.”
Later, filming for the sequel began in July 2019 at various locations. By the end of September, production was officially summed up. In December 2019, Paramount Picture released a 30 sec teaser, followed by a full trailer in January 2020. Subsequently, promotions for A Quiet Place 2 began.
After that, A Quiet Place Part II had its world premiere at the Lincoln Center in New York City on March 8, 2020. Meanwhile, to promote the movie, Paramount pictures also set up a survival room for the visitors to overcome fear and obstacles in silence. Paramount had also announced a double-feature event for A Quiet Place 1 and 2. However, the event couldn’t take place due to COVID-19.
Other than that, the release date has been changed twice. Finally, A Quiet Place 2 is announced to release in April 2021.
