A Netflix movie on Congo Gorillas by Barry Jenkins

Oscar Winner Barry Jenkins reportedly will make a ‘Virunga’ film on Congo gorillas along with Leonardo DiCaprio, and Netflix. This film would be an adaptation of the Oscar-nominated documentary Virunga which was released six years back in 2014 and was penned and helmed by Orlando von Einsiedel.

Some of the reliable and a leading entertainment portal has reported that the most famous American film director Barry Jenkins and popular producer Leonardo DiCaprio are joining hands together along with the Netflix original. This is going to be a Virunga’s film version, an award-winning documentary on the struggle to preserve the endangered mountain gorillas of Congo.

According to the report, In addition to Jennifer Davisson and Phillip Watson, DiCaprio’s Appian Way Production would be involved in this upcoming project. The Violet Films will be tagged with Joanna Natasegara, who was also one of the producers of Virunga. Orlando von Einsiedel, who was also a part of the 2014 film, is all set to produce the upcoming film.

The filmmaker Barry Jenkins, who is popular who is best known for winning the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for his film Moonlight is penning the script for the Virunga film.

Virunga was a National park in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was a fight to protect the Mountain Gorillas which is on the verge of extinction. Virunga is beautiful and needs to be protected. The political and economic matters to need to be taken into consideration with the biodiversity of Virunga. Netflix has taken up the rights to do the documentary. Leonardo DiCaprio will make sure that the documentary comes our right which will explore the life of Grant. We will see Justin Salinger as Ulysses S. Grant, the 18th President on the United States.

Besides this, the 2020 documentary is also featuring Gabriel Harry Meltz as Grant Staff Officer, Carel Nel as Abraham Lincoln, Daniel Fox as Colonel Charles Marshall, and Francis Chouler as John Rawlins. In addition to this, Grant is also featuring Dianne Simpson, Craig Jackson, Brian Heydenrych, and Camilla Wolfson. Leonardo DiCaprio has announced the show’s premiere on his official Instagram account.
